IMPORTED WINES & SPARKLING

Besserat was founded in Aÿ in 1843 by Edmond Besserat. Native to Hautvillers, he applied his craftsmanship and skill to creating wines for distribution to leading hotels, restaurants and purveyors of fine wines. Following Edmond, the family continued his work with his grandsons Victor and Edmund inhereiting his passion for perfection and his sense of excellence and high standards. In 1920, Edmond married Yvonne De Méric de Bellefon, who was in her own right of Champagne Nobility and so began the legend of Besserat de Bellefon. 1930 marked an historic turning point for the company. Accepting the challenge issued by the manager of the prestigious Parisian restauraunt, La Samaritaine de Luxe, Victor Besserat developed a lightly sparkling champagne of great finesse that could be drunk throughout a meal. This was the birth of Cuvee des Moines, the Champagne especially created for gastronomy that has cemented Besserat de Bellefon’s legendary status throughout the world.

Tenute Lu Spada was founded in 2015, arising from a group of friends who shared a vision: reviving the ancient winemaking tradition in Brindisi, a city whose territory is historically considered to be “the land of wine”. 

In just a few years’ time, we managed to retrieve and convert to organic a land historically committed to viticulture, to restore an old masseria in between the vineyards creating a cozy tasting area, the wine shop and the office.

Our grapes carry the scent of the sun and wind, the heart and the mind. They speak of a world made of manual craft, precious and antique, of a story ever repeated and ever new, with its roots deep in the experience of the past generations that wrote the tale of wine in this place.

The grape varieties we cultivate are those typical of this area: Vermentino, Cagnulari and Moscato di Usini.
From these grapes, grown and selected with care, we make our wines.

Piccini wines come from 130 years of winemaking tradition with four generations of passion for wine. The Piccini family own four estates in Italy; Fattoria di Valiano, a prestigious estiate in Chianti Classico areas in the commune of Castelnuovo Berargenga, Tenuta Moraia in the Maremma region of coastal Tuscany, Villa al Cortile in Montalcino for the production of Brunello and Regio Cantina in Basilicata region, specialised in the production of Aglianico del Vulture. Piccini wines come from 130 years of winemaking tradition with four generations of passion for wine.

The philosophy at Valiano is to produce elegant wines that reflect the region and ultimately the characteristics of each particular vineyard. The wines focus on expressiveness of the grape variety in relation with its territory. Valiano is located in the village of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southern part of the Chianti Classico area. The estates spreads over 230 ha (570 acres) of land, 74 ha (182 acres) of which are vineyards, focusing on the Sangiovese production..

The historic Capoano family boasts a range of illustrious figures, dating back over thirteen centuries, in the fields of science, history, law, art and religion. Their passion for wine production, to delight their own palates as well as those of their guests, is equally ancient. The estate extends over approximately twenty hectares, among centuries-old olive groves and autochthonous vineyards. From this land D.O.C. wines and oil have been produced for over two thousand years, giving prestige and authority to the real Cirò production: it is sufficient to recall that the wine was offered to the winners of the Olympic games more than two thousand years ago. The cellars cover 600 sq. Metres. Storage and refining the most vintage of the wines takes place in the underground vaults of the family mansion, amid stone walls 2.5 metres thick which, to this end, guarantee a constant, optimal temperature.

The Santa Venere Company has the primary objective of spreading the culture of its territory throughout the world through the production of fine wine, obtained with only native Calabrese grapes cultivated through organic farming. The Santa Venere Organic Farm covers about 150 hectares on the hills of the ancient land of Cirò, a small town in Calabria in the province of Crotone with very ancient origins, particularly significant for its history and culture. This territory, with its flat lands towards the sea and the rolling hills, is considered a highly prized area for the cultivation of vines. The lands have been owned by the Scala family since 1600. 

Honouring the land is the first vocation of Fantinel. A vocation having its pulsating heart in Tauriano, near the ancient village of Spilimbergo, town of culture famous all around the world for its prestigious Mosaic School. Here stands an elegant winery, dealing with the management of over 300 hectares of vineyards divided into the renowned Grave, Prosecco and Collio DOC zones. Unique terroirs, privileged areas with microclimates ideal for the best maturation of the fruits and the highest expression of each vine variety, especially the valuable indigenous grapes. From these authentic treasure chests containing rare gifts Fantinel’s peculiar concept is coined: a viti-culture meaning a real culture of grape-growing. Because only a vine that grows according to natural rhythms, on the basis of the respect of the plant vegetative cycle and balance, can give birth to rich fruits and, naturally, to majestic wines: harmonious pictures radiating sun light, giving off the unlimited colours of the land.

Nestled on the eastern face of Mount Etna, an active volcano overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the unique climate and soil conditions of this picturesque location is the perfect setting to produce the world’s most exquisite wines.  The Gambino Winery is dedicated to producing artisan wines which capture the vibrant flavours and spirit of Sicily. From the vine to the harvest to your table, every bottle is carefully crafted by the Gambino family with the same passion and attention to detail as Vittorio and Maria Gambino who founded the winery back in 1981. Gambino Winery’s world-class wines perfectly capture the complexity, elegance, and character of the Gambino family and the enchanting island of Sicily. The Gambino Winery is an extraordinary vineyard that continues to cultivate a variety of wines you will savor time and time again.

Tenuta Carretta is located in the south of Piedmont, in Piobesi d’Alba, in Roero. It is a winery  with a rich story, one of the most historic Italian wineries where past, present and future are integrated. Their vineyards are a part of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato wine district, an extraordinary territory that was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. Tenuta Carretta practice sustainable winemaking, with manual harvesting, slow pressing of the grape cluster and balanced maceration. Each phase has the aim of storing and transmitting, in whole, the balance and the harmony of the grapes into the bottle all the way to the glass.

Paolo Leo’s wine producing vocation is rooted in a family tradition dating back to end of the XVIII century. There were, indeed, five generations of winemakers that shared a deep passion for wine and never left their own land: all of them have built a piece of the winery’s history. Today as then, Paolo Leo winery rises proudly in the town of San Donaci, still bearing its family name. Puglia is placed in the southeastern part of Italy, surrounded by the Adriatic sea to the east and the Ionian sea to the west. Salento is a peninsula that occupies the south-eastern extreme of Puglia. This land of limestone soil and intense sunshine is, somehow, the “heel of the Italian boot” that divides the Adriatic from the Ionian sea.

Since 1985, following the path of tradition, but always keeping an eye on innovation, the management of the vineyards by Mucci family has resulted in excellent quality wines perfectly harmonized with the ambience of Abruzzo. Cantine Mucci combine knowledge with passion and love for their land. The family’s ancestor, Luigi Mucci, has taught us that blending these three complimentary elements results in the best wine.

Cellaro prodigy of an area suited where the vine has found its habitat natural the dawn of time. As for magic , coming in our country we have the feeling of being away from it all, but just a step away from themselves. Splendid mountains surround the Lago Arancio painting a picture with the water as the protagonist, valuable resource preserved by people hospitable and hardworking. Sambuca di Sicilia for centuries speaks of excellent grapes, Cellaro tells it with inimitable wines.

Mansalto’s 70 hectares of vineyards grow in small plots surrounded by forest and fields, at an unusual altitude (600 m.). This position, made unique by a special microclimate and a peculiar terroir, allow grapes to ripe slowly in perfectly healthy conditions. Each parcel has a different soil type, giving each wine a distinctive character: fruitier where there is more clay and afternoon sun, more floral in the highest vineyards, more mineral where the soils are lighter and sandier

Totino Estate Vineyards are situated in the picturesque Adelaide Hills of South Australia, in a region called Paracombe. Located approximately 420 metres above sea level, Totino Estate sits on 120 acres of land with 80 acres of vineyards. The climate is cooler, the soils richer, and the subsequent flavours of the grapes grown, are delicate yet complex. The property was a former vineyard, however in 1970’s a government grant was issued and the vineyards were vacated. In 1999 despite the un-kept state of the Paracombe Estate, The Totino family saw great potential and commence planting six grape varietals. Today the Totino Estate showacses 8 bottles, all created with love and passion.

Situated in the beautiful Clare Valley in South Australia, Claymore Wines is in its third decade. Claymore Wines draw fruit from five premium estate owned vineyards at Penwortham and Watervale (home to our Joshua Tree vineyard). Their wines are about bringing together great passions to create the ultimate experience, priding themselves on meticulous winemaking using only the best fruit.
